Progression for all
At the Peak Academy we ensure our learners are well-prepared for the next stage of their education, training or employment and attain the relevant qualifications and skills required.
Our learners progress onto a range of further education establishments, apprenticeships, employment or training. These destinations strongly support future career pathways.
Advice
We have a qualified Careers advisor on site at school who offers high quality and impartial careers advice ensuring that learners fare supported in building ambitious and realistic plans for their future. Learners understand the options available and are informed about local and national skills required. We work with external agencies to add further levels of support to ensure all possible options are used to identify the most suitable and appropriate future pathways for our learners.
A range of providers work with our learners. As appropriate some attend EHCP meetings, and we provide discreet independent guidance sessions regarding becoming college, apprenticeship or work-place ready.
Skills
We develop personal, social and employability skills through a diverse range of activities and opportunities. We invite external agencies and employers to meet with our young people to ensure that they are well positioned to make practical and appropriate decisions regarding their futures.
Life Experience
We offer work experience placements tailored to our learners’ interests and strengths. We work closely with our young people and local employers to match suitable placements that develop skills required to prepare our learners for the world of work. We also provide visits and experiences that enhance the learners' knowledge of future options and pathways.
